2013 "Witch's Ladder" Pinot Noir

Green Valley of RRV
During the Salem witch trials, tail feathers of the wren were discovered woven into cords or “ladders” to help recite spells on clueless victims. Unsportsmanlike conduct, but crafty if we do say so ourselves. This liquid sorceress reveals its black raspberry nose and tart strawberry mid-palate right out of the bottle. Clones 777 and 828 make great partners and each clearly reflect their site from the cool southern zone of the Russian River Valley. Watch for signs of "enchanted" forest floor and the lingering red licorice finish. And yes, this wine and its silky tannins will surely put a hex on you.
